Ed was not present. Corrections Committee: Tom S. Tom submitted a financial statement from April 2001 to the present. He extends his appreciation for both financial and old Grapevine donations. Also, anyone wanting to donate 3rd edition Big Books should consider contacting Tom so he can circulate these at the BCJ and Resolutions. Tom continues to check on submitted applications for approval. This seems to be a time consuming process.
Answering Service: Keith M. or Jack C. (Email - tweezerprise@yahoo.com (or) jaconl@fuse.net) Keith reports that the service received 49 calls in February. Any members wanting to volunteer to be on the 12 Step call list should contact Keith or Jack. The next district schedule printing will be in May. Please submit any changes to Keith or Jack preferably by email. For those without computers, call at the above numbers.
Webpage: Jim. M. Jim reports all problems have been rectified with our site. Look forward to seeing posted district minutes on a monthly basis. Jim also suggested that members with computer access should send information concerning anniversaries, picnics, dances etc. for addition to the events calendar.
Archives Committee: Larry S. All GSR's need to complete and return the group history forms to update the archive files. It has been ten years since the last update was done. As of today, Larry has only received 2 forms. Completed information should be sent to our PO box listed on the back of the minutes.
PI/CPC Committee: Dorothy G. Dorothy completed the postcard, which will be inserted with follow-up letters to the high schools and libraries. This will make it easier for them to respond to the district should they want more information in regards to AA. The committee will also be updating its contact list. The PI/CPC treasury balance is $35.00 at present. Please consider donating for the purchase of literature so we can continue to educate students and the public about our membership. The 25th Anniversary PRIDE 2002 World Drug Prevention Conference is being hosted in Cincinnati, April 10-13. They expect thousands of individuals from around the world assembled to discover the latest strategies in the prevention of drug abuse and violence. For more information, the website is www.prideyouthprograms.org. Area 56 is sponsoring a booth and needs volunteers for 4 hour timeslots. Anyone interested should contact either Dorothy or Jullian N. at 859-581-2120.
Events Committee: Katie M. The committee will meet Sunday, the 17th, at 1:00 at the Hamilton Post - 450 South 2nd St. Apparently, AA is going to be celebrating 55 years in Hamilton. The committee will discuss some type of celebration to commemorate this event.
Grapevine Committee: David H. [[David plans to attend the SW Ohio Mini-Conference this weekend and meet with the Area Grapevine Representative. He will report back with any information.
Tradition/Concept: Dorothy presented Concept 4. Larry B. will present Concept 5 next month. Old Business: None.
New Business: The district voted to reinstitute the Lord's Prayer at the end of each district meeting. Questions/Problems: None.
Next District Meeting: The next district meeting is April 8th.
Announcements: DON'T FORGET THE SW OHIO AREA 56 MINI-CONFERENCE THIS WEEKEND - MARCH 15,16 & 17TH. CALL MARY PAT Y. @ 896-6527 FOR MORE INFORMATION. Also the NE Ohio General Service Conference is April 5-7 in Elryia, Ohio. An early reminder about the 2005 International Convention in Toronto, Canada... the deadline for theme suggestions is June 30, 2002. These can be sent to GSO in New York. The February 23 Unity Day was a success. Area 56 is planning on sponsoring a homegroup workshop in the near future. Monday Night Campus Ave. Group in Oxford that meets at 8:00 is now providing babysitting. Squirrelly In The Woods is reluctantly "hibernating" until the weather improves on a consistent basis. Sheila will let us know when and where the meeting will resume. Ross New Beginings will hold it's quarterly eating meeting on March 29. Dinner will be at 7:00 with meat and beverages provided. Please bring a covered dish if possible. The lead will be at 8:00. College Corner will be hosting an anniversary meeting on March 21. The dinner will begin at 6:30 with a lead at 8:00. Please bring a covered dish if possible. The Millville Group will be hosting a celebration dinner sometime in May or June...more details later. The GSO is in need of employees with at least 6 years sobriety.
